Beeks Group is pleased to welcome Matthew Phillips to the team as Institutional Business Development Executive, based in South Africa. With experience across capital markets and trading technology, Matthew brings a strong understanding of both the technical infrastructure behind exchanges colocation and the commercial needs of financial institutions.
Working closely with the Beeks EMEA sales team and our longstanding partner, Johannesburg Stock Exchange (JSE), Matthew will focus on increasing adoption of Colo 2.0, powered by Beeks Exchange Cloud®, among JSE participants, while also growing our presence with independent institutions across the South African financial services market.
He joins Beeks from Estuary Solutions, a trading technology provider and user of Colo 2.0. At Estuary, Matthew has held senior roles spanning business development and trading systems engineering. He will continue to work part-time with Estuary alongside his new role at Beeks, helping them maximise the benefits of JSE’s Colo 2.0 platform.
Having used Beeks Exchange Cloud® first-hand as an end user via JSE’s data centre, Matthew brings a unique perspective on how managed infrastructure can deliver performance and value to both exchanges and their clients.
Beeks Group CEO, Gordon McArthur, commented: “We’re really pleased to have Matthew on board. As a direct user of Exchange Cloud®, he brings a perspective we don’t often see and that insight will be invaluable as we continue to support the JSE and grow in the region.”
Matt Pilkington, Head of Sales EMEA, added: “I’ve worked with Matthew for a few years now through our work with the JSE. He’s switched on and has a great understanding of what financial firms need, and how to help them get there. It’s great to have him with us.”
Matthew’s appointment marks another step in Beeks’s investment in South Africa and our continued focus on providing flexible, high-performance infrastructure to the capital markets globally.
Join us in welcoming Matthew to the team!
