stream2Cloud provides enterprise-scale streaming network packet capture and live network analytics for businesses that require a low-cost, fast-to-implement, self-managing solution to record full detail of all network activity and gain actionable insights to improve performance, make effective use of capacity and avoid service issues.
The first step to using to stream2Cloud is to identify the data sources, whether that will be onsite or cloud-based deployments. To monitor onsite deployments with stream2Cloud, clients configure a secure GRE tunnel to the stream2Cloud service. To monitor cloud-based deployments with stream2Cloud, traffic mirroring is configured to capture the traffic and send it to stream2Cloud. Other monitoring options can be deployed for clouds that do not support traffic mirroring.
The stream2Cloud service takes these inputs and computes network performance telemetry in real-time. Captured telemetry can be visualised directly from InfluxDB using Grafana or other compatible tools.
stream2Cloud’s streaming approach also enables packet capture from multiple sources, providing an aggregated single view across the entire enterprise, at a cost that would be prohibitive using on-premise capture devices.
These multiple capture sources can be combined into a single capture repository or, conversely, captures can be segmented to provide separation by vlan or application-specific filters. This could allow separate retention policies to be configured for different classes of data. For example, retain UDP multicast market data for one week and TCP transactional data for one month.
